Baumhower’s Announces 5% of Memorial Day Proceeds to Benefit Veterans Foundation

Loxley, AL – (May 26, 2017) – Aloha Hospitality International, Inc., parent company of Baumhower’s and Bob’s Victory Grille restaurants, honors our military heroes by donating 5% of their restaurant’s proceeds from Memorial Day, Monday, May 29 to the veteran service programs of the National Veterans Foundation

“We’ve been supporting the National Veterans Foundation for three years now,” said Head Fry Cook Bob Baumhower. “Every Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Baumhower’s is proud to support the NVF’s Lifeline for Vets, which helps prevent veteran suicides and helps veterans get the benefits and services they’ve earned with their service.”

In addition, all year long, active duty and veterans dining at any location of Baumhower’s Restaurant, Bob’s Victory Grille and Dauphin’s, receive 25% off if they dine in uniform and 10% off if they are out of uniform and present an ID.

THREE YEARS OF SUPPORT FOR VETERANS IN ALABAMA

Baumhower’s and Bob’s Victory Grille Restaurants have partnered with the National Veterans Foundation since 2014 through the “Bob’s Platoon” campaign. Shad Meshad, the President and Founder of the National Veterans Foundation and Bob Baumhower are both sons of Alabama. Shad Meshad was born and raised in Birmingham before going off to Vietnam in 1970 and then dedicating his life counseling and advocating for veterans. Bob Baumhower, played football for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant where he was a two-time second-team All-American. He made 246 tackles in his college career, still the most ever for an Alabama defensive lineman. In the NFL, Bob played for the Miami Dolphins under Coach Don Shula from 1977-1986. He accomplished the rare feat of leading both his college and NFL team in tackles and is considered the most-decorated lineman in Dolphins’ team history. The first Baumhower’s Restaurant was opened in 1981 and was the first restaurant to offer buffalo chicken wings in Alabama.

“We are so grateful for Baumhower’s support,” said National Veterans Foundation President & Founder Shad Meshad. “Bob Baumhower gets it. He and Aloha Hospitality not only say they support veterans, they back it up with their generous donations every year. It’s great to partner with them to help our veterans get the benefits and resources they need, and have earned with their service.”
